Connecticut wholesaler registration: the 2026 rules, live now

The short answer — Connecticut

Yes — after you register. Since July 1, 2026, Connecticut wholesalers must register with the Department of Consumer Protection ($285 for two years) before acting. From October 1, 2026, the seller must also get the state's Wholesale Disclosure Report before signing — and a wholesale contract may never be recorded.

Rule: Conn. Gen. Stat. §§ 20-329aaa to 20-329hhh (Public Act 25-168, §§ 252–259) · In force: Registration July 1, 2026; disclosure report October 1, 2026 · Penalty if ignored: Violations are an unfair trade practice under CUTPA (§ 42-110b). A contract that runs past the 90-day closing cap without a signed extension terminates automatically.
